They have to abolish the H1B programme completely since they can no longer prevent its abuse. They need to have a new process in place in which scrutiny occurs for each application of a foreign worker!

We are not talking about what's beneficial to the United States. What we are discussing is what the law says. It doesn't matter if it is beneficial to the United States or not, if it is the law of the land then everyone has to abide by it; even the government. I think everyone has a different opinion on what's beneficial for this country. In any case the classification is not based on one's country of origin or individual's personal qualifications ... it is based on what the job requires. heck an individual having Phd can get a job which requires only 2 yrs study and no exp that doesnt mean that they are any less qualified that a person in EB1 for any country .... but the most value gained is in the EB1 category job....hence the argument.... nothing to do with where you are born or what individual qualifications you possess .... I realize that it maybe will take 3-4 years for us to get GC. So? I realize that DOS might retrogress now dates for many years on Oct, and will not do the same stupid mistake as making dates current and unleashing the voluntary slaves. So?
Today was little tiny success and it was day of tiny celebration. There is day for complaining and there is day for celebration.

All three- Lofgren, Eshoo and Pelosi- represent the High Tech areas of California, Silicon Valley and the areas around it. I'm sure there are many immigrants/IV members in those areas. We need to have a webfax and phone campaign to get interim relief now. Folks in that area can viist lawmakers offices too. Maybe CompeteAmerica wants to recapture H1 visas and EB visas for high tech immigrants too??

I know everything, i have been following these forums from past 3 yrs, but i responded to the post by ksircar, he said "I think some SELFISH people with recent PDs are scared as people with older PDs may take the quota" which was inappropriate, cursing core members or people who are eligible to file 485 doesn't help right? that's all i want to say.
Here I want to make clear, FIFO for taking labor applications and sending ad instructions not for approving. I know depending on compilcation of cases(I think), some cases with PD 2005 get approved fast and cases with PD 2003 are taking longer. I dont know why all these mess in DOL, for taking the labor applications and sending ad instructions.

Certainly Canada is much much better option. Wish people had talked about it 10 years ago. So for those who just came to America or those who are deciding where to go to work or to school, Canada should be the first choice. You will actually have more flexibility being a Canadian than American.

My understanding is they wait until last quarter to give the spill over. But this time they started giving the numbers in 3rd quarter itself. Keep in mind EB1 is current and Eb2 except I and C is still current.
I expect to see at least 20k visa's issued to EB2 I and C.
EB2 China wont take much visas because EB2 china PD cut off date was already Jan 2006 a year back. So it takes its reguler 9,800 visas for this 2008 fiscal year.

If you read my post carefully, I am suggesting this 'in addition' to what's already on IV's agenda. Why can't we work on this item in conjunction to what's already being worked on? I have started preparing a fraud list from a bunch of websites like desicrunch.com. I noticed that almost 90% of firms reported there are fraud firms and it makes me wonder about the efficiency of local authorities. Also I don't see how targeting blood sucking desi firms would feed the anti-immigrant trolls. I would think we Indians would benefit the most since it would increase our credibility in general. Thanks for considering this idea at least. I would like to know other people's thoughts based on my clarification here. This drive might clean up cases freeing up visa numbers for genuine EB cases from India. Why should I be in line with crooks ahead of me? It doesn't make sense whatsoever.
And yes, my contribution to IV so far as been $1000 and involvement in other drives. Couple of days back, I do differed with IV objective to persue only filing of I-485 by Feb 15. Also, one gentleman from this forum asked me to quit IV...
I am of the opinion that "Difference of opinion" to achieve goal is OK but not to loose UNITY...
I did not quit IV but today contributed IV because I beleive IV is fighting for Immigration issues/cause..

I agree its a great idea, still most of crowd don't understand what are we asking and relates us to un-documented workers.
Even within legal community most people who are pre-gc stage (H1/LE Etc) they don't have any interest; ppl came to me at work after rally to tell me that they are 4-5 years away from my situation so they didn't feel attending rally. Bigger the better, we need big crowd, NJ/NY/MD/DC/VA are worthless. We can try doing rally in Houston, TX area, we may find dedicated people there. But I feel it will be very tough to show heads rally in big numbers.
On our next rally (hopefully soon) we should all carry placards but this time with ONE single slogan:
"WE ARE ALREADY LEGAL AND HIGHLY-SKILLED IMMIGRANTS, STOP LUMPING US WITH ILLEGALS AND END THE 10-YEAR GREEN CARD WAITS"
